Congratulations to all our elementary scholars who participated in the annual Battle of the Math Brains competition!
Third through fifth graders from 12 schools across FWPS put their math skills to the test in a series of individual and team challenges that sparked problem-solving, collaboration, and critical thinking. Scholars navigated both written tests and movement-based activities, making for an engaging and energetic event.
Way to go, mathematicians—we’re proud of your achievements and excited to see your continued growth!
Congratulations to our FWPS scholars for their creativity and innovation in the Seventh Annual STEAM Film Festival: STEAM the Dream!
This year, scholars from across the district brought their dreams to life by creating two-minute films that explored the limitless possibilities of STEAM—Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics. Through collaboration and discovery, students produced imaginative and thoughtful films in the categories of Live Action, Animation, and Documentary.
We’re proud to recognize the elementary and secondary winners in each category for their outstanding work. Congratulations on your achievement!
Congratulations to our AFJROTC scholars from Todd Beamer High School and Federal Way High School for advancing to the 2024–25 Northwest JROTC Drill and Rifle Conference Championships!
The Todd Beamer High School Unarmed Drill Team and Color Guard #2, along with Federal Way High School’s Color Guard Team #2, Unarmed Drill Team, and Individual Armed Exhibition, earned their place at the regional championships by placing in the top three of their categories in the Narrows View JROTC Drill Division against 32 JROTC units from across Washington and Oregon, representing all service branches—Air Force, Army, Navy, and Marine Corps.
A special congratulations to Federal Way High School’s Jaelen, who earned 3rd place in the state as Color Guard Team Leader #2.

Congratulations to the Thomas Jefferson High School Speech & Debate Team for winning the 2024–25 3A Washington State Speech and Debate Championships!
15 scholars brought home the state championship title, making this Thomas Jefferson’s fifth state win and the first since 2018.
Several team members placed in the top three across multiple categories, including oratory, dramatic interpretation, impromptu speaking, program oral interpretation, and duo interpretation.
